Maricopa County Jail

What happened to the days of bread and water? Someone needs to tell these crazy people that jail is NOT Burger King and you don't get it your way!!! If you want it your way, stay out of jail and DO NOT commit crimes. Jail is for people who can not function and/or behave in society, so why should we cater to them in jail and make it easy??? GO Sheriff Joe!!! LOVE your work!!!

you obviously have no idea what you are talking about, the comments made were factual. Most of the people in the jails are professionals, why, because that's where Sheriff Joe can get money, a hardened criminal is not going to be able to pay the OUTRAGEOUS bonds they have in this county for traffic violations. I have lived all over this great nation and I have never, ever, EVER been in any legal problems, not for forty years, that is not until I moved to this state and county. And when all was said and done in the end all that I was charged with was a broken tail light and for that I spent 3 times in jail and paid at least 6 thousand dollars between lawyers and fees. I am a law abiding, god fearing, healthcare provider, who surely did not deserve this treatment. So before you go getting on some soapbox, you should really check your facts!!!

Gary, you assume that police make no mistakes. A woman can claim you did something to her and point to some injury and you would quickly find yourself in jail. Do not be so quick to judge. Even the police sometimes get it wrong...but the point is how people should be treated.

I agree to the 5 basic requirements for life, food, air, water, clothing, shelter. The food should at least not be spoiled, I'll say that, how it tastes is not necessarily an issue. As for how prisoners are treated, well what did they forcefully take from their victims, property, money, rape, whatever, now they want me to feel sorry because they are being treated as they say, badly, I don't think so. Like it was said, do not commit a crime, you don't go to jail.
