I agree that these inmates do not need to eat steak and eggs for breakfast, but they don't need rotten fruit and spoiled milk either. I have been to Towers Jail and these inmates haven't even been sentenced yet. Mostly kids. No hardened criminals. Just stupid kids. I don't have alot of compassion either for inmates but don't have understanding for jail employees who take inmates food and blackmail them into not filing complaints or just plain make stuff up. That is why most people don't know the truth about what goes on.

I was arrested last month for having cash on me. After I told the cop I am not a "kush dealer" and tried to show him a receipt from my business were I picked up several thousand dollars he arrested me for attempting to control a criminal enterprise and money laundering. Even though I had no drugs or paraphernalia and I was by myself not with a "criminal enterprise" he just wanted to make an arrest bc he wanted to believe he made a big time bust he actually told me he was going to make up all sorts of stuff so I wouldn't get a bail. I spent the next week in jail and on my first court date the charges were all dropped bc there was absolutely no evidence even the judge asked what did you do to piss off the cop? On top of spending a week of my life away from my wife and son, spending 5000 for an attorney, witnessing horrible things inside of the jail between inmates, and eating the horrible rancid grapefruits and stale bread all my money was forfeited to the sheriffs office even though I was found not guilty and my attorney said its a loophole that they can do that and it will cost another 6 months and 5 to 6 thousand dollars to fight them for the money. And youre right inmates do not deserve any special rights but that should be reserved for felons already sentenced and in prison not in jail were a majority of people are on trial or just in there for a few days for very very minor offenses.

I have to believe you were stopped for something other than having money on your person. On the forfeit of money, I would fire the lawyer, then go to the Justice Department and the AZ bar about the lawyer, something does not sounds quite right, sounds like a few details are left out.
